Burdn Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using Burdn.

Last updated: October 24, 2026.

By downloading, accessing, or using Burdn (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Ekuty LLC ("Ekuty", "we", "our", or "us"), the provider of Burdn. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Burdn is only for adults aged 18 and older. You may not use the Service if you are under 18. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and are able to form a binding agreement with us.
You sign in to Burdn using a supported sign-in method (such as Apple, email, or another provider we enable). You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure and for activity that occurs through your account. Notify us at support@burdn.app if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Burdn lets you post under personas rather than your real name. Personas are designed to keep your real identity private from other users. You agree not to use personas to deceive others for harmful purposes, to impersonate a real person or organization, or to evade safety measures, moderation, or a block. Some posts on Burdn are examples written by the Burdn team. They appear under the same persona masks members choose and describe made-up situations, so they are not any member's own experience. A few early example replies are still labelled "Burdn Stories · by our team". Examples follow the same rules as everything else, and you can report one like any other post.
You are responsible for the Burdns, replies, and other content you post. Content you share may be visible to other users of the Service. You retain ownership of your content. You grant Ekuty LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and moderate your content as needed to operate and provide the Service. This license exists so we can run Burdn and ends for new uses when your content is removed, except where retention is described in these Terms or our Privacy Policy.
Burdn is a space for honest, anonymous expression and supportive replies. You agree not to post or do any of the following: • Harassment, bullying, threats, or incitement of violence. • Hate or content that attacks people based on protected characteristics. • Sexual exploitation or any sexual content involving minors. • Illegal content or activity, or content that facilitates it. • Spam, scams, or deceptive or manipulative behavior. • Impersonation of a person or organization. • Sexually explicit content. • Encouraging, promoting, or giving instructions for self-harm or suicide. • Any attempt to identify, de-anonymize, dox, track, or expose another user, or to reveal private information about anyone. Our Community Guidelines (burdn.app/community-guidelines) explain these rules in more detail, and our Child Safety Standards (burdn.app/child-safety) set out our zero-tolerance policy on child sexual abuse and exploitation. You agree to follow both.
To keep the community safe, we review reported content and remove content that breaks these Terms or our Community Guidelines, and we prioritize urgent safety concerns. We may also preserve records, including reports, blocks, and related safety information, where necessary for safety, abuse prevention, or to meet legal obligations. If you believe we removed your content by mistake, you can ask us to look again as described in our Community Guidelines.
Burdn Premium is an optional paid subscription, bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. • Price and billing period: the price, billing period, and any introductory offer are shown in the app and by the store before you confirm a purchase. • Payment: payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google account by the store when you confirm the purchase. We do not receive your payment details. • Automatic renewal: a subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period and you are charged again, unless you cancel before the renewal date, as the store's terms describe. • Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in your App Store account settings (Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; your Premium access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. • Refunds: purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refund requests are handled by them under their own policies. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases. • Deleting your Burdn account ends your Premium access but does not cancel a store subscription. Cancel it in the store to stop future charges.
You can delete your account at any time in the app (You → Account actions → Delete account), or by asking us to delete it as described at burdn.app/delete-account. When your account is deleted, your personal account information is removed and the Burdns and replies you posted are removed from Burdn, as described in our Privacy Policy. Certain records — such as reports, moderation, and abuse-prevention records — are kept where necessary for safety, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons. Purchase records are kept by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat under their own policies.
If you get Burdn from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) also applies. These Terms are between you and Ekuty LLC, not Apple, and Ekuty LLC — not Apple — is responsible for the Service and its content.
Burdn is not an emergency service and does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, or other professional advice. Content on Burdn is shared by other users and should not be relied on as professional guidance. If you or someone else may be in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area right away. In the US you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. More resources are listed at burdn.app/support#crisis. Burdn is not a substitute for professional help.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content posted by other users is accurate or appropriate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ekuty LLC and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised Terms on this page. Your continued use of Burdn after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
